AGM - 22nd February - Saddle and Sirloin - Chesterfield house - Rood Lane

March 20th - A visit to St Paul's Cathedral. 
A visit that covered 8 centruries of english history in words and music. moving to different parts of the Cathedral, with music from different eras. The evening ended with a Buffet Supper in the Crypt.

Tuesday 30th April- Wine Tasting "Degustation France v New Zealand"

Very liitle information is available on this tasting except that the wine tasting was held at the City University Club in Cornhill - with the wines presented by David Evans invloving a range of different specific grape varieties and a comparative tasting.

Note from the webmaster in 2016 - 1996 ? - Sauvignon Blanc would have been there. Pinot Noir - I wonder ?

At this very special Civic Lunch, the Ward Club's 50th "Birthday", the Menu provided by "Party Ingredients" comprised;

We donated £250 to the Lord Mayor's Appeal  

153 Members and Guests attended including The Lord Mayor Alderman John Chalstrey and The Lady Mayoress, Alderman and Sheriff Sir Peter Levene and Lady Levene

Visit to St Pauls Cathedral (History and Music) with the Wren Singers - This was originally booked for 20th March. Unfortunately there was not a good enough respnse to justify the overall minimum costs.It was re-arranged for 24th July in conjunction with another group. This time over 50 members and Guests attended what must have been a spectacular event. They visited different stations within the Cathedral ending at the Chapel of Order of the British Empire, with Music and Singing of different eras (over 8 centuries) at different points.

Visit to State Rooms of Buckinham Palace 9th September
46 Members and Guests took part in this visit which must have been one of the first times that the Palace had been opened to the public.

Carol Service Tuesday 3rd December - St Peter - upon Cornhill

A letter sent to members in November said ".....the serice will be followed by a meal and a glass of mulled wine at the City University Club, just down the road in cornhill. This is a new venture for the club and is an ideal opportunity for families to join in.
